We thank you for entrusting us with the care of your pet. We offer several payment options for our clients—cash, and all major credit cards.

  • Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients’ needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we cannot bill.
  • We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
  • When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Newburgh Veterinary Hospital understands this and accepts both CareCredit and Scratchpay as 3rd party financing options.

From the answering receptionist to check-in to my appointment with Dr. Harlec to speaking with the vet tech at pickup, I had a top-rate experience. My cat was in dental pain and needed to be seen asap. They fit me in that morning with no problem and attempted the simplest thing first to relieve him. When that didn't work, they had to give him some sedation and do a quick procedure, which they scheduled an hour later. They called to let me know how he was doing, and I was able to pick him up three hours later. I have been going to this practice (in tandem with All Creatures in New Paltz) for six or seven years. Each time I go to NVH, they tell me up front what the cost will be, and a vet tech always explains thoroughly what happened, what to expect, and asks what questions I have. I always feel respected and heard at this practice, and appreciate how they care for both my cats. Also, it's wonderful that they have weekend hours!

My dogs are beyond happy at day care and overnight at the kennel, and enthusiastically part company from me to go play with "friends" and enjoy quality time at this facility. I know they are happy, secure, and that the staff is attentive to their needs. Scheduling is easy, staff is polite and pleasant, and knowing that medical services are available if needed it reassuring. Facility is clean and well maintained and tired doggos are always ready to go back for a repeat visit!

Most recently, I had my little Yorkie spayed here, but I have had her in their care ever since she was old enough to need her puppy shots. They are completely professional, yet personally committed to both me and my doggie. I discovered this establishment a few months ago when one of my parrots was unwell. I contacted them, and they promptly accommodated me, assisting in the restoration of her health. We started recently with our dogs max and ace. The staff is compassionate and very friendly. Appointments are easy to get. Dr. Carolyn Steinbeiser is one of the best veterinarian physicians we brought our boys to. We will highly recommend.

We unfortunately had to put our dog Pumpkin down yesterday. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and were extraordinarily kind to my family and I. They allowed us a private room and gave me time to get my 4 kids down to say goodbye to her. They even gave her a dogs dream meal. We have never used their services and brought our dog there because they were the only Vet we checked with that could take in an emergency case. We will be bringing our other pets here for their check ups going forward. Thank you to everyone who took such good care of Pumpkin and my family.

My first visit was a "sick" visit for my bird so it was a difficult day and visit but I thought all of the staff were kind and professional. Dr. Steinbeiser was forthright but kind and made me feel very confident that she understood how much my bird means to me and wanted to do her best to help her. My first impression is that she's an excellent vet. She has a very good "bed-side manner"/way about her. She strikes me as someone I can trust and rely upon for my birds health and well-being. I think veterinary care expenses (especially sick or urgent visits) are usually daunting to clients, but feeling that I can trust a hospital to do everything possible to help my pet, without over-charging or trying to increase costs with unnecessary expenses is the second most important quality to a client, next to belief in the hospital & Drs ability and desire to help our pets. Thank you for your help, attention, and care during a very difficult visit. I pray that my bird's recheck goes well and she continues to recover well. As this is the only hospital around that has avian Drs, I'm very relieved it's such a good one.
